What does ‘evaporate’ mean?
When water turns to gas because of the heat and rises.
Define ‘groundwater’.
Water that has soaked into the ground.
What is the difference between ‘permeable’ and ‘impermeable’?
Permeable:
Lets water soak through.
Impermeable:
Will not let water soak through.
What is the sun?
The sun is a giant ball of gas in space that provides heat and powers the water cycle.
Define ‘infiltration’.
Rain soaks into the ground.
What does ‘interception’ mean?
When leaves catch rain as it falls.
Define ‘condensation’.
When gas turns into clouds.
What is ‘surface runoff’?
Rainwater that runs off the surface.
What is ‘precipitation’?
When rain/snow/hail/sleet falls from the clouds.
Define ‘erosion’.
When something is gradually being worn of by something else. Eg: When rock is being eroded by the force of the river.
What is ‘deposition’?
When rocks,dirt and other things like that are being carried along the river and then dropped.
