Bipartisanship
cooperation/agreement between two political parties that normally have opposing views- finding common ground on policies

powers that are listed in the constitution
Limited government
idea that there should be legal constraints on political authorities (power)

when its hard to pass legislation as the senate and house of rep are controlled by different parties

political advantage given to those standing to be reelected who already hold office

power given to congress to monitor and influence the executive branch

agreement before the senate that sets aside a rule of procedure to expedite proceedings

A president with greater power than the constitution allows

a president that lacks power to be effective, the inability to maintain control over the large federal bureaucracy

Suggests that the judiciary dominates US politics

interpretation of the constitution as how it was intended to be understood at the time
