Genocide
The intended wiping out of a whole group or part of a group of people based on a particular aspect of their identity, such as religion or ethnicity.
Identity
The different aspects which make up a person, such as gender, age, religion
Membership and belonging
‘We’ and ‘they’ - what are the different groups in a society and what the requirements are for membership, which people aren’t accepted.
Outcast
Somebody that isn’t accepted as a member of the group
Bias
Having a one sided opinion, favouring one thing more than another
Institutionally racist
Racist practices within an organisation like polic, schools, hospitals or businesses.
Raphael Lemkin
Created the term for genocide and lobbied the UN to treat it as a crime.
