Eyes and stares play an important part of this narrative
The wedding guest notices the mariners “glittering eye” as he first stops him
Wedding guest is held by the power of his stare, unable to break away from- stare is almost supernatural
The eyes become the only means of communication when speech is denied - when the Mariners crew suffers from thirst and cant speak they shoot him evil looks as they blame him for their circumstances
The Mariner mentions how glazed the crews eyes are to convey their weariness even when they can’t talk
After encountering ghostly ship of life and death the crew turns to the Mariner and “each turned his face with a ghostly pang, And cursed me with his eye”
