Number of babies who did under age 1 per thousand babies born

Number of people for each doctor
Literacy Rate
Percentage of adults who can read and write
HDI
Human Development Index
Number calculated from life expectancy, literacy rate, education level, income per head

- simple and easy to compare
- easy to see patterns
- can subdivide (social/economic)
Limitations of using s single measurement of development
- average can skew the reality e.g Saudi Arabia
- show the county as a whole, don’t reflect different development within boarders

Related to how much money you have and what you buy
Quality Of Life
How happy people are including access to education, healthcare and security etc
