define non volatile memory?
non volatile memory is memory that doesn’t wipe after the computer shuts down e.g: Flash memory.
define volatile memory?
volatile memory is memory that will wipe all the data saved to it after the computer shuts down e.g: RAM.
what is cloud storage?
cloud storage is a type of digital storage that stores data in servers via the internet.
what is a bus?
a bus is a type of wiring that allows the transport of data between devices or hardware within the computer.
what is clock speed?
the operating speed of a computer or its microprocessor, measured in cycles per second (megahertz)
what is cache?
cache is the type of memory within the CPU. It is extremely fast and is very small storage wise (it only comes in megabytes)
define the Fetch-Execute cycle?
the Fetch-Execute cycle is the process by which a computer retrieves a programmed instruction from its memory, determines what actions the instruction dictates, and carries out those actions.
What is RAM?
RAM or Random Access Memory, is the type of volatile memory that is used to store all running applications or programs once opened, until saved elsewhere
what is the ALU?
the ALU or the Arithmetic Logic Unit is the part of the CPU that is used to run and execute all logical and arithmetic programs or commands
what is SSD?
SSD or Solid State Drive is a storage device containing non-volatile flash memory, it has no moving parts and has a much greater speed than a had drive
what is a monitor?
a monitor is a screen that is connected to the computer to visually show what the computer is running

peripherals are anything that can plug into the computer to help feed it data to run
