What is afterload?
The resistance from the arteries when the heart is trying to pump blood through them.
Cardiac output
Volume of blood being pumped out by heart
Cardiomegaly
When the heart is enlarged

Group of heart conditions that can lead to cardiomegaly muscle failiure or death
Dyspnea
Difficulty breathing, usually paired with anxiety

When you cough up blood

Having to urinate at night, in the context of cardiac issues it is when you lay down and have gravity dependent edema. Fluid shifts to the back and thus the kidneys with the increased perfusion to the kidneys and excess fluid.
Orthopnea
Difficulty breathing when laying down.
Positive inotropic
Drugs that can cause stronger muscle contraction
Preload
When the blood that comes back to the heart to be circulated again puts pressure on ventricles
Pulmonary edema
Fluid build up in lungs
Tachypnea
Fast shallow respirations
