Aim
A statement of what the researcher intends to find out in a research study
Hypothesis
A statement predicting the outcome of the research
Procedure
Steps taken in order to carry out research
Findings
Outcome of a research study/project
Conclusion
What the findings tell us about people in general rather than particular participants in the study. Conclusions can be used to construct theories
Ethical issues
These are correct rules of behaviour which is necessary when carrying out research. Researchers have a moral responsibility to protect participants from harm
Validity
The extent to which the researcher measured what they intended to measure
Ecological validity
The extent to which you can generalise the findings of a study beyond the particular setting in which they were collected
Demand characteristics
A cue that’s makes participants unconsciously aware of the aims of the study which helps them work out what the experimenter expects to find out
