Excessive pride or self confidence

A play dealing with tragic events and has an unhappy ending

A character of a noble birth who has a fatal flaw which causes them suffering, often resulting in the death of the character
What is an aside?
A dramatic device where a character(s) says something intended to be heard by an audience but not other characters
What is foreboding?
Hinting something bad will happen
What is a tyrant?
A cruel and oppressive leader
What is dramatic irony?
A dramatic device where the audience knows something the characters don’t
What is regicide?
The act of killing a king
What is vaulting ambition?
An excessive or overreaching ambition that leads to destructive outcomes
