A

What is face theory and what are some examples ?

A

Face theory is how people put themselves forwards in social interactions to try and create a positive image of themselves. For example by using group identity and markers (us, we), claiming common ground (me too), expressing interest (no way), seeking/ giving agreement (yes), giving sympathy (poor you).
