Must presume the person has mental capacity.
Individuals should be supported to make their own decisions.
People have the right to make unwise decisions.
Anything decision made about someone should be in their best interests

General data protection regulations
Key features:
Organisations must have good reasons for storing data such as a doctor.
Data can only be used for the purpose it was originally collected for.
Information must be kept accurate
Data must not be kept for longer than necessary
Information must be kept secure
Care act
Key features:
Advocates should be there to support vulnerable people
Local authorities must promote wellbeing
Continuity of care (if an individual moves from one area to another there should be no gap in that persons care)
If u are eligible you can have a person budget
Information provisional (local authorities must provide specific details)
