What is a subspace?
A
A subset taken from a vector space V is a subspace if:
- for any two vectors in the subset, the sum of those two vectors are in the subset.
- 0 vector is in the subset
- an element * scalar is in the subset
The set containing just the zero vector is a subspace of V

A
A set V which is closed under addition, scalar multiplication and contains the zero vector.
