Grow and reproduce better, have a better quality of life, better quality products

Cost effective as it is cheap to run

Poor animal welfare, less good quality products

What is stereotypy
Repetitive behaviour in captive animals
Eg. Chewing movements, pacing, chewing and kicking
What is misdirected behaviour
Inappropriate use of normal behaviour towards an another animal, its surroundings or itself
What are the altered activity levels animals face in poor conditions
Very high levels - hysteria
Very low levels - apathy
