Layers of the cornea
A
- Epithelium (several layers thick - can regenerate after injury without scarring)
- Bowman’s layer (does not regenerate - scars with damage)
- Stroma (thickest part - scars with damage)
- Descemet’s membrane (BM - regenerates after injury)
- Endothelium - does not regenerate - opacifies when damaged

A
- Staph aureus
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa
- Coagulase-negative staph
- Pneumococcus
- Often polymicrobial
