Why is exercise so important?
It reduces weight and maintains health
What will happen if you take in more energy than you need?
The rest of it will be stored as excess fat, too much can lead to health problems like obesity

For your cell MEMBRANES and to make vital HORMONES
How can you lower your cholesterol levels?
Regular exercise and a balanced diet
How is a disease caused?
A disease is caused by a microorganism entering and attacking your body people can pass these microorganisms from one person to another, these are called infectious diseases
What is the difference between viruses and bacteria
Viruses are much smaller than bacteria and some bacteria is passive, viruses cause diseases in every living think even bacteria
How do pathogens make you fell ill?
Feeling ill is caused by the damage and toxins produced by the pathogens. The symptoms also appear as a result of the way your body responds the damage and toxins
What are the four main ways contaminated diseases are spread?
Droplet infection (Sneezing and coughing)
Direct contact
Contaminated food and drink
Through a break in your skin
Why don’t medicines like aspirin actually cure you’re illness?
Because they are designed to make you feel better and you won’t realise you are ill but your immune system will overcome the illness
What is an antibiotic?
An antibiotic is a medicine that works inside of your body to kill the bacteria that causes diseases
How do antibiotics work?
Antibiotics work by killing the bacteria that causes disease while they are inside of your body. they damage the bacteria without harming your own cells thus relieving you of the infection
Why is it important not to use antibiotics too often?
Because if you use them too often then about 5% of them will mutate which will make that antibiotic harmless to them and making it useless to us this is called natural selection
