Q

Root of psychiatry

A

Neuroscience (e.g. Freud), pathology, microscopy. But what one can get from learning from observing cells is so far from what one can learn from a human being, and that it is so much more interesting, that many said to work in that domain and try to understand people based on words (instead of cells like in microscopy)

Q

Essential part in work of Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung (his contemporary)

A

Subconscious mind tightly connected with libido. Carl Jung saw much more in subconscious instead of mostly only the connection with libido, saw it as a complete alternate representation of the consciousness self, reflect whole range of motivations and desires
