RATE BASED DIGITAL SYSTEM
How is heading, roll rate, and pitch information derived
HEADING: Supplied by G1000 INTEGRATED COCKPIT SYSTEM;
ROLL RATE: TURN COORDINATOR;
PITCH: PRESSURE SENSOR and ACCELEROMETER
What will happen if pitch or roll axis annunciator illuminates?
There is a FAILURE and AUTOPILOT will DISENGAGE
What are the restrictions of the KAP140?
SPEEDS BETWEEN 90-185kts; CRUISE or APPROACH FLAP; NO SINGLE ENGINE; NO OPEN WINDOWS; LESS than MODERATE TURBULENCE and LESS than 15kt CROSSWIND when in APPROACH MODE; DISENGAGES with outside 1.4G and 0.6G
How can the KAP140 be disconnected?
AP DISCONNECT on STICK; AP BUTTON on KAP140; MANUAL ELECTRIC TRIM TOGGLE switch; AP CIRCUIT BREAKER; AVIONICS MASTER switch; MASTER switch
What will the settings of AP be when engaged?
BASIC ROLL and VERTICAL SPEED HOLD
What does the NAV mode do?
What does the APR mode do?
Automatic BEAM CAPTURE of VOR, LOC, or GPS as selected on HSI;
Automatic BEAM CAPTURE of VOR, LOC, GPS or GLIDESLOPE on ILS as selected on HSI
What does REV mode do?
Automatic BEAM CAPTURE of VOR, LOC, GPS or GLIDESLOPE on ILS as selected on HSI except LOC signals are REVERSED and GLIDESLOPE is DISABLED
What is the issue with ALT mode?
If ENABLED in CLIMB or DESCENT there will be OVERSHOOT of approx 10% of VS
What is the purpose of rotary knobs?
SET ALTITUDE ALERTER reference altitude;
SET BAROMETRIC PRESSURE
When is there an issue with the pitch trim annunciator?
SOLID PT WITHOUT ARROW indicates FAULT;
FLASHING PT WITH ARROWS indicate direction of REQUIRED trim
