what is kantian ethics
A
- interested in the right action and not simply the right outcome
- ’ duty for dutys sake’.
- dont act out of selfishness or feeling morally obliged to.

- an unconditional moral obligation worked out through reason
- lying and scuicide cannot be condoned in all scenarios so it can never be condoned

strenghts of kantian ethics
A
- universal law is fair, can be supported in any faith due to golden triangle and makes it easier to apply
- less proned to emotional/personal bias as his theory is based on reason and duty

A
- to ignore the outcome of actions is naive
- its too ideological and theoretical; people are immoral, so this does not account for apparent goods
- you cant accuralty judge intentions
- no flexibibility in his arguement for extreme circumstance
