KA2: impacts of population growth and natural hazards of biodiverisity Flashcards
what is biodiversity
biodiversity is a measurement of the variety of living things that are found in a area.
what is a example of 4 human activitys
deforestation
over fishing
litter
oil and chemical spills
whats the reason and impact for deforestation
the reason is that land needs to be cleared for growing crops and farms need the land for animals and crops
whats the reason and impact for over fishing
the reason is that we need food to feed ourselves and the impact would be that the fish are decreasing because we are catching them before they can produce more.
whats the reason and impact for litter
the reason would be there is not enough bins to put it in and the impact is it can kill animals because of the diseases or they can choke or get stuck in it.
whats the reason and impact for oil and chemical spills
the reason is that we need it to heat our houses and the impact is that the oil gets into the feathers of birds.
5 examples of natural hazards
earthquake
volcanic activity
tsunamis
forest fires
floods
