A
- looking at IJV as a means to assess right atrium pressure ( central venous pressure )

A
- contraction of right atrium.
- blood flows through tricuspid valve in righy ventricle

A
- closure of tricusoid valve
- right ventricular contraction during systole causes slight upward pressure in IJV

- relaxation of right atrium
- blood fills into right atrium, right ventricle from SVC

A
Filling of right atrium whilst tricuspid remains closed
