Methods: 20 cats, 3 blood draws from same vessel. Struggle score
Results: lactate 1.63 (0.37-2.8) no diff with struggling.
Conclusion: lactate is reliable in cats

Methods: prospective. 5 beagles. 1 mg glucagon sq and iv. Insulin imr, gluc, ACTH, cortisol.
Results: iv inc glucose a lot,sq less.
Conclusion: we can use sq glucagon as emergency treatment for hypoglycemia at home. Can cause sedation. Not useful in diagnosing adrenal axis

Objective: can we use ABE to predict transfusion req and mortality
Methods: retrospective, 52 dogs
Results: dogs needing transfusion had sig lower Abe than non. Non survivors had sig lower Abe. Pcv the same. Abe less than -6.6 for transfusion. -7.3 for survival.
Conclusion: Abe was predictor of transfusion and mortality in the first day. ATt was better predictor of mortality though.

Methods: 101 dogs with 3 view rads
Results: dogs without cardiomegaly were 10.2 times more likely to survive. Most common findings were esoph dilation, micro cardio, small cava.
Conclusion: they think that cardiomegaly is the main reason to take the rads.
