What is the mission in relation to juveniles?
Promote public safety.
Hold Juvenile offenders accountable for their behavior.
Improve the ability of youth to live productively and responsibly.
What is a juvenile offender?
Age 10, but less than 18.
What is not considered a Juvenile offender?
-Traffic offenses 14 yrs or older.
-Fish and Game Wildlife Parks Boating offenses 16 yrs or older.
-Person under 18 convicted as an adult, sentenced as an adult following termination of extended jurisdiction, convicted/sentenced as an adult in another jurisdiction.
When can a juvenile be taken into custody?
-Offense committed in officer view
-Warrant
-Probable cause that a warrant exists from another jurisdiction
-PC committed a felony
-PC committed a misdemeanor
-PC violated electronic monitoring
