justice Flashcards
understand and be able to explain how justice and injustice are different from moral wrongness and permissibility
justice focuses on institution and the overall equitable distribution of something (dist of rights, goods, etc), while morals focus on beliefs about what acts are right/wrong and good/bad, based on moral principles and norms, on a much smaller scale
examples of just and unjust situations
just situation: equal access to healthcare, clean drinking water
unjust situation: differences in access to healthcare, water in flint
examples of just and unjust institutions
just institution: the red cross
unjust Institution: South African apartheid
give an example of injustice where there is no clear (relevant) wrongdoing on the part of any person
difference in education standards/funding between states/counties, global warming for future generations to solve
