Explain ways that the school staff could value the diversity of the children, using the aspects of diversity listed below. (2 marks for each)
Food (2 marks)-
Meet cultural needs (vegetarian), meet dietary needs (gluten), provides different foods that cater for different belief systems, provide halal food for Muslims, provide vegetarian food for those who don’t eat meat.
Music (2 marks)-
Musical instruments from around the world, introduce songs from a range of cultures, visits to a variety of different types of music performances, play music from different cultures, tie in topics they are teaching.
Dress (2 marks)-
Inclusive school uniform, respect religious requirements, dressing up area could have clothes from different cultures/ parts of the world, multi-cultural dress up days, encourage conversation about cultural similarities and differences.

Pros-
Sharing best practice, discussing what went well/ celebrate success, discussing what could be improved in the future, share concerns/ raise issues, problem solving/ partnership working, getting opinions from staff, training/ meetings to identify where staff needs support.
Cons-
Meetings take time- people are busy, after school before school- teachers and staff may need time for preparation and planning, some staff may be absent, while staff are at a meeting they are not working, some staff have a negative attitude, staff may be tired after a full day of work.

Effects on mental health-
Lack of confidence, anxiety and depression, eating disorder, lack of motivation, feeling worthless, low self-confidence, social anxiety, not wanting to leave the house, finding it hard to go to school.
Effects on physical health and well-being-
Not eating/ eating disorder/ malnutrition, weight loss, health deteriorates/ poor immune system, self harm, staying in bed, lack of exercise, fatigue/ weak/ tired.
Describe two ways that support groups, such as ChildLine, can help individuals who have been bullied. (4 marks)
Describe- PE
Ways that support groups can help individuals who have experienced bullying:
Advice and information about what help is available.
Raise awareness of bullying issues.
Campaigns to prevent bullying.
Opportunities to meet others in the same situation e.g. share experiences and coping strategies.
Offer counselling/ someone to talk to without being judged.
Provide legal advice.
Provide an advocate .
Explain how to report it/ how to complain .
*Analyse the possible impact of having a bullying policy, for individuals who are being bullied. (5 marks)
Impacts of having a bullying policy:
Individual will know what to do.
Raises awareness of bullying.
Defines what bullying is.
Helps prevent bullying.
Gives individuals confidence to report it.
Guidance- staff will know the responsibility.
Ensures legal requirements are met.
Provides a system of redress.
Helps individuals feel safe and secure.
Helps them feel they will be listened to.
