Junctional Escape Rhythm Flashcards
Ectopic areas
Ectopic = outside of where it’s supposed to be
Can create a single escape beat
Or
Set off an escape rhythm
Junctional escape rhythm
Intrinsic Rate- A) V) 40-60 BPM Regularity- Regular P Wave- Absent or inverted P:QRS ratio- Not Applicable PR Interval- <o.12 sec. If present QRS Width- normal or wide
Junctional escape beat (JEB)
Looks like a sinus complex with out a P wave
SA node failed to fire
Escape comes after expected R-R interval
Junctional rhythm
SA node depolarizer from JEB & doesn’t fire
SA node fails to depolarize from Dz process
Premature Junctional Complex (PJC)
Occurs early in R-R interval
Absent/inverted P waves in inferior leads
Occurs early in cardiac cycle
No P wave found = not a PAC
Accelerated Junctional Rhythm
Intrinsic Rate- A) V) 60-100 BPM Regularity- Regular P Wave- Absent or Inverted P:QRS ratio- Not applicable PR Interval- <o.12 sec. If present QRS Width- Normal or wide
Junctional Tachycardia
Intrinsic Rate- A) V) >100 BPM Regularity- Regular P Wave- Absent or inverted P:QRS ratio- Not applicable PR Interval- <0.12 sec if present QRS Width- Normal or wide
Reentry Circuit Criteria
1) 2 separate path ways
2) pathways are different properties
3) one path way slows down
Pseudo S wave
Buried P wave usually in S wave
AV Nodal Reentry Tachycardia
Intrinsic Rate- A) V) 140-250 BPM (commonly 170-250 BPM) Regularity- Regular P Wave- Absent or inverted P:QRS ratio- 1:1 if P waves are present PR Interval- None or R-P interval QRS Width- Normal or wide
WPW Wolf Parkinson White= Delta wave
Delta wave only in AV Reentry tachycardia
