FDA pregnancy categories?

A

A- studies have failed to demonstrate risk to fetus in any trimester B- Animal studies fail to demonstrate risk, no human studies available C- Only given after risk to fetus are considered, no human studies; animal studies demonstrated risk D- Definite human fetal risk, may be given in spite of risk if life threatening conditions X- absolute fecal abnormalities, do not use any time during pregnancy because risk outweigh benefits.
