July 2019 Flashcards
2 Peter 1:3-4
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of this glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
2 Peter 1:5-7
In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
2 Peter 1:8-11
The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins. Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Matthew 3:2
Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.
Matthew 3:8-10
Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God. Don’t just say to each other, ‘We’re safe for we are descendants of Abraham’. That means nothing, for I tell you, God can create children of Abraham from these very stones. Even now the ax of God’s judgment is poised, ready to sever the roots of the trees. Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire.
1 Corinthians 4:20
For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk. It is living by God’s power.
2 Corinthians 2:14 (Interlinear)
The fragrance of the knowledge of Christ is manifested through us in every place.
2 Corinthians 3:18
So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of God. And the Lord - who is Spirit - makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.
1 Corinthians 15:58
So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
