“Madam, I am here”
The use of “ madam “ used to address her mother presents the distance between their relationship.
Act 2 scene 5
“ sweet, sweet, sweet nurse”
- the repetition of “sweet” suggests Juliet is trying to get in favour of the nurse by praising her, suggesting how they have a trusting and playful relationship
Act 4 scene 2
“ henceforth I am ever ruled by you”
- suggests that in the eyes of capulet she has succumbed to him.
- “ ruled” suggest that capulet now rules over Juliet much like a ruler of tyrant.
- suggests how Juliet is more cunning as she know what to say to her father to convince him.
Act 1 scene 5
“ you kiss by the book”
Act 2 scene two
“ O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?”
- she is already calling out to Romeo despite only meeting him
- repetition of romeos name suggest that’s the only thing on her mind right now
- “ wherefore” searching for him
Act 3 scene five
“ you’d light is not daylight; it is some meteor that the sun exhaled to light thee”
- antagonising the sun
- tries to make excuse for the break of day
- “ sun exhaled” suggest it is trying to get in the way of them

“ o swear not by the moon the inconstant moon”
- suggesting that by swearing upon the moon his love for her will also be varied as the moon changes phases and that it will some disappear
Act 2 scene 2
“ it is too rash, too unadvised, too sudden, too like…lighting”
- she is aware of the speed at which this relationship is moving
- starting to feel hesitant about this
Act 3 scene 5
“ if all else fail, myself have power to die”
- “ power to die” suggests she has the ability but is not necessarily going to do it right now
- suggest she is more logical compared to Romeo who jumps to conclusions

“ if he be married, my grave is like to be my wedding bed”
- foreshadowing

“ my only love sprung from my only hate”
Act 4 scene 1

- would rather face he worst fears.
