In orthodox synagogues the seating area upstairs is just for women
Orthodox

All jewish men cover their hair when they pray as a sign of respect for God

Woollen shawl shows the man is obeying Gods laws because each fringe symbolises one of the 613 mitzvots given by God
Tefflin
Two leather boxes. One is worn on the upper left arm and the other one on the forehead. Each contains the shema and wearing them shows the person loves God with their heart and mind

-preparation brings the person closer to God
-expected to take responsiblity for following the law

-wears a tallit for the first time
-makes a short speech
Bat mitzvah(Girl)
-when a girl is 12
-Reform girls have a bat mitzvah
-reformed read from torah

The betrothal ceremony takes place undee chuppah(canopy)-symbolising their home and rings exchanges
-groom breaks a glass
-speech from a rabbi
Mourning for the dead
After hearing of the dearh Jews make a small tear in their clothes and say they accept Gods decision
