what is a kippah?
a cap worn by Jewish men during worship as a sign as respect for God
what is a torah?
this word refers to Jewishg scriptures- they are written in Hebrew and are kept in the synagouge.

what is a tefillin?
a box containing the Shema which is attatched to the arm or forehead with leather straps. It is a reminder of God’s presence with the person and their need to think about God in their daily life.
what is a shema?
an important prayer said by Jewish people 3 timnes a day to remind them what they believe.
what is a menorah?
a 7 branched candelabrum and is the oldest symbol of the Jewish people. It is said to represent the burning bush as sheen by Moses on Mount Sinai. Menorahs are often seen in the synagouge
what is a tallit?
a prayshawl worn by men during worship.
what is a yad?
thjis is a pointer used to keep place when reading the Torah. you can not touch the Torah.
what is a mezuzah?
a small case containing the Shema which Jewish people fix to the right side of their door frames. it is placed there as a constant reminder of God’s presence. If a Jew moves house, he must remove the Mezuzah from the door and take it with home, leaveing it behind is disrepectful to God. The Shema is a very important prayer which Jewish people say 3 times a day reminding them what bthe believe.

a book containing the order of the Seder meal used at passover.

the Jewish prayer book
what is a talmud?
a book of Jewish teachings. It does not have the same authority as the Torah but many strict Jews would seek to obey the instructions found in it.
