What is Achan’s sin?
Achan son of Karmi, the son of Zimri, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of the loot that was plundered in the victory over Jericho and hid it for himself. The loot was meant to be kept in the treasury of the Lord’s house. Because of Achan’s sin, Joshua’s army was defeated when they attempted to attack Ai. When it was found out that Achan had done this, he was stoned to death and buried. The place where he was buried is now called the Valley of Achor.
