Q

What are the actions, attachments, and innervation of the pectoralis major?

A

. Adduction and medial rotation of upper limb, draws scapula anteroinferiorly against thoracic wall, clavicular head flexes upper limb
. Clavicular head originates from medial half of clavicle, sternocostal head originates from anterior part of sternum and superior 6 costal cartilages- Both heads inserts into intertubercular sulcus of humerus
.Innervated by medial and lateral pectoral nerve

Q

Describe the continuations of the subclavian artery

A

. Subclavian artery becomes axillary artery after lateral border of first rib
. Axillary artery becomes brachial artery at inferior border of teres major
. Brachial artery bifurcates to ulnar and radial arteries in forearm
. Ulnar and radial arteries anastomose to form superficial and deep palmar arches, which give rise to common digital arteries
