Q

What are the motion palpation tests for sacroiliac joints?

A

Extension (counter-nutation) test, patient sits arms folded, stand behind on opposite side to test. thumb pad on PSIS P-A I-S pressure. Other arm on elbow assisting into lumbosacral extension.

Flexion test
Part 1: patient seated feet on floor shoulder width apart. behind patient Thumb pads on each PSIS, ask patient to bend forward and touch ground between their feet.

Part 2: Standing feet shoulder width apart, behind patient, thumb pads on each PSIS. ask patient to bend forward to touch floor with fingers between feet.

Q

How to do motion palpation lumbar flexion?

A

Patient seated arms crossed, behind patient, thumb in interspinous space of testing vertebrae other griping elbows, P-A I-S pressure. Patient flexed forward ask to slouch then sit normally. Do end feel.

17
Q

How to do motion palpation lumbar rotation?

A

Seated arms folded, standing behind patient at 45degrees on testing side, thumb pad on opposite side to side being moving out in rotation. other hand on elbows. L-M pressure. patient rotated as far as possible away from side being tested. Test end feel.

18
Q

How to do motion palpation lumbar lateral flexion?

A

Patient seated arms folded, behind patient at 45degrees on side being tested. thumb pad on same side as flexion. other hand patients elbows L-M pressure. Patient laterally flexed as much as possible. end feel.

19
Q

How do you do thoracic extension screen?

A

Between T5-T12 arms folded, T1-T4 fingers interlinked behind neck. Behind patient fist contact over SP, other hand on elbows. P-A pressure moving up. extend with patients elbows asking them to return to normal as you reposition hand.
