Jocelyn's Responses Flashcards
Joel
Joel did not get a chance to lead until this final session, but as a group member he did well to stimulate discussion. His role as the “problem” group member was very amusing. He went hard on that role and I think we all appreciated the effort he gave which us an opportunity to confront a difficult group member. Also, Joel gave thoughtful, caring responses to the questions asked. This made everyone feel comfortable and open.
Eric
Eric was often a leader even when not in a direct leadership role. This is due to his natural tendency to stand out as a person of good leadership potential. As a group member, he would help to facilitate discussion and stimulate deeper thinking. This was also evidenced by the online discussion where he would ask questions of many members to further discussion.
Patrick
Patrick did a great job leading. He has natural leadership qualities which led to his naturally being the selected leader for many group sessions, however he would graciously give that role to others and was not prideful. He spearheaded the technological side of things which was a tremendously difficult task. I noticed that one role he often held was to make everyone feel more at ease in the group with comfortable conversation.
Matt
Matt was a great group member. One group session that particularly stood out to me was in an early group session where we had to develop a game using a yellow ball. Matt was great in helping to develop that game and I believe a lot of group camaraderie was created out everyone’s involvement, but I remember that Matt particularly was fun and engaging in that instrumental early group session.
Zach
Zach was a key member of the group, often working as a scribe for our group. He brought good ideas to the group’s dynamic that allowed for deeper thinking, such as in the counselling group we had to create. He helped to shift the group’s thinking in a new way, and that allowed us to create something unique from our other assignments. He always pushed us to think differently than we had for previous group assignments (especially because we seemed to have to create a lot of groups in our group sessions!)
