A
Jews believe that there is an agreement (covenant) between the Jewish people and God. If they obey and follow Gods laws they will be his chosen people and will be delivered to the promised land.

Abraham was the first person to make a covenant with God. He is considered the father of Jewish people. The israelites are his descendants.
