Summarise chapter one.

A

Mr Utterson is introduced as austere and as a lawyer. Enfield is also introduced and tells the story of Hydes horrific actions where he tramples on a child. During this chapter we are constantly reminded about victorian ways and opinions like how a gentleman should act.

Summarise chapter two.

A

Jekylls will is introduced and its particular contense. Utterson is suspicious as to why such an educated man would want one man who he never mentions to inherit all her posses: Utterson thinks it could be bribery( a rational idea). Utterson finds Hyde fascinating as his name always crops up in strange circumstances. He final sees him after looking out for him in order to gain answers and experiences his deformed character( metaphysical).

They are at Lanyons dinner party and they bring up the topic of Hyde. They question Jekyll who tries to calm their suspicions, however he talks of Hyde soundly which is strange.

Summarise chapter four.

A

A man witnesses hydes horrific actions murdering a respectable innocent old man( Carews muder). She reported this to the police. The police searched Hydes house and were surprised at how it resembled an upper-class house although he was lower-class. Many papers were burnt.

Summarise chapter five.

A

Utterson goes to speak to Jekyll about the murder. he enters the laboratory which he has never done before. Jekyll tries to tell Utterson Hyde has left by showing him a letter from him. Utterson takes it home and his clerk spots his peculiar handwriting which is rather similar to Jekylls.
