Core Beliefs
I. First Core Belief: Doctrinal Authority
- Mistranslated the Bible
- Their version of the Bible “New World Translation” is not accepted by any Greek Scholar
“They continue to translate it adjusting too their doctrine, “
Second Core Belief:
Jesus is not God, he is A God!
- They mistranslated “Word was God” to “Word was a god”
-They believe Jesus Christ was the archangel Michael in his previous state and the brother of Satan himself…Mormons believe this as well!
The Best Strategy is to go with what they have!
“You must not have any other gods besides me”. Exodus 20:3
-Bible teaches that you should have no other gods besides Him
- If Jesus is simply a God then they are disobeying this scripture stating we only have one God
- They also believe that the Holy Spirt is not a person, but a force.
“John 16 teaches the spirit is a person and it is in fact God himself
What is their motivation in splitting up the Trinity?
Romans 1:25
- People try to understand the non-understandable and so they change it to make it “understandable”
III. Third Core Belief: Steps of Salavation
- They also believe you need to have faith, repent, get baptized, and persevere to the end to be saved!
Problem is what their baptized into:
-They are baptized under an Organization,
-This is a direct contradiction with getting baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit! (Matthew 28:19)
IV. Forth Core Belief: Eternity
- Only 144,000 anointed men will be saved ( They took the numbers of Revelation literal)
12- represents the tribes in the Old Testament and the other 12 represents the apostles in the New Testament
144,00- representation of Gods people as a whole
Hell: Not a place of torment, but a fire you are immediately destroyed in
What are the 4 reason JW don’t believe in a literal hell?
- Unbiblical (although this is easily refuted)
- Unreasonable (Why should we be punished forever for something we did during a temporary period of time)
- Contradictory to God’s love
- Repugnant to justice
