washers
Washers that prevent a nut from shaking loose
lock washers
Washers with small projections which indicates the tension in the bolt
load-indicating washers
These are anchor bolts with split casing that expands mechanically; has an expandable socket; used in masonry walls for attaching timber, etc.
expansion bolts
Expansion bolt having a split, sleeve-like sheath thread
molly
These are lead or plastic sleeves inserted into a predrilled hole and expanded by bolt or screw drove into it
expansion shields
These are metal pins used for permanently joining two or more structural steel members
rivets
Rivets used when a joint is accessible from one side only
explosive rivets
A threaded bolt with a straight shank and a conventional head (square, hexagonal, button or countersunk type)
machine bolt
A threaded bolt with circular head, oval or flat bearing surface , and a means which prevents the bolt from rotating
carriage bolt
A bolt having a nut with pivoted flanged wings; used to fasten object to a hollow wall or to a wall which is accessible only from one side
toggle bolt
A short metal block with a threaded central hole to receive bolt, screw or other threaded part
nut
Are movable joints used to attach, support and turn a door; with two plates joined by a pin which connects it to the door frame

preassembled lock and latch
This is installed by boring holed thru the face of the door and from the edge of the door to the other bored opening; also called cylindrical lock.
bored lock and latch
This lock has a cylindrical lock and a dead bolt which are interconnected so that a single action of turning a knob releases both bolts.
interconnected lock
An intricately designed lockset; operated inside with a key and a thumbturn or a universal button.
entrance lockset
Same with entrance lockset but simpler in design.
bedroomlcokset
A simply designed lockset locked form the inside ;without a key; with a cylindrical knob turned from the inside only
toilet lockset
This is a a type of door lock which is square in cross section;operated by the door key or a turn piece.
dead bolt
This a spring bolt, with one edge beveled;this is forced inward when the door/window is closed and springs back into a fixed notch when the door/ window is fully closed.
latch bolt
This is a handle, usually for operating a lock.
knob
A round disk or plate fastened to the face of a door thru which the doorknob spindle passes.
knob rose
A protective plate surrounding the keyhole of a door or a light switch.
escutcheon
A metal plate or box which is set in a doorjamb which receives the bolt or latch of a lock, fixed on a door.
strike, strike plate or striking plate
This is the projection from the side of a strike plate which the bolt of a lock strikes first to protect the frame.
lip strike
These are devices that automatically return the door to its closed position; control the distance of a door.
closers
They provide an alternative way to hang doors; they may be center-hung or offset and are mounted in the floor and head of the door.
pivots
A type of operating hardware used for safe egress during a panic situation.
panic hardware
These are used to operate a door that does not require automatic hatching; used on doors in commercial kitchens.
push plates and pull bars
These are small metal fabrications with rubber bumpers used to keep a door from damaging adjacent construction.
door stops and bumpers
These are vertical members between double doors to seal the opening, act as a door stop or provide extra security.
astragals
This is a manually operated sliding rod or bar attached to a door for locking it.
door bolt or barrel bolt
This is a device attached to a door and its jamb which limits the door opening to the length of the chain.
chain door fastener
This is a door bolt which moves into a cylindrical casing;not driven by a key.
barrel bolt or tower bolt
Located at the top of a door, a spring bolt actuated by a chain attached to it.
chain bolt
A bolt which is fixed at the bottom of a door and can be operated by foot.
foot bolt
They are used on the inactive leaf of a pair of doors; may be surface mounted or mortised into the edge of the door.
flush bolts
These are devices that are mortised or surface applied to the bottom of the door to provide a sound or light seal.
automatic door bottoms
This is used along the edge and bottom of the doors to provide a tight seal against water and air filtration; can be neoprene, felt,metal, or vinyl
weather stripping
These are used where floor materials change at a door line, where weather stripping is required, for hard surfaces in automatic door bottom, or minor changes in floor level.
