Feudalism
is a social and economic system in which peasant farmers worked land for a landowner (daimyo), and by paying a price and giving their loyalty,they were protected by the owner’s samurai.
Samurai
or loyal warriors who lived according to a demanding code of behavior called Bushido.
Bushido
or the “way of the warrior” a samurai was expected to show reckless courage, reverence for the gods, fairness, and generosity toward those weaker than himself.
Daimyo
became territorial lords who protected those loyal to them with a private army of samurai.
Kabuki
dramas, in which actors in elaborate costumes using music, dance, and mime, performed skits about urban life.
Haiku
which is a type of poetry that does not express ideas but presents images.
Shogun
The shogun was a military dictator that was able to gain power from the emperor and things like officials, judges, taxes, armies, and roads were all under his authority.
