The samurai became poorer and the peasants became richer because the samurai were needed less and they never had to pay tax before so they had little money left whereas the peasants gained lots more

Why did the close door policy happen
They thought that Europeans intention through trading was to take over Japan so they got rid of all foreigners and made hot close door policy
