What were some problems they had there?
A
They did not plant crops right away meaning they didn’t get much food to eat, they didn’t get along with the Powhowtans so they fought each other, and many died of new diseases that they didn’t have cures for. Also many houses had been burned down not giving them a shelter.

Why did the settlers come?
A
Some came to make a profit, some came for adventure and for land of their own.

How did the settlers overcome these problems?
A
People started to plant gardens and fish the way the Native Americans would. They would trade with the Native Americans during peaceful times, someone made a plant of tobacco that grew well in Virginia, and people made the House of Burgesses for people to make laws for the settlement.
