James 1-5 Chapter Analysis Verses Flashcards
J 1:1
James
Greetings!
J 2:23
Abraham, Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.
J 2:5
Hasn’t God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith?
Aren’t they the ones who will inherit the Kingdom he promised to those who love him?
J 2:8
Love your neighbor as yourself.
J 2:21
Abraham
Isaac
Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
J 2:16
What good does that do?
J 2:6
But you dishonor the poor!, Isn’t it the rich who oppress you and drag you into court?
J 2:3–04
If you give special attention and a good seat to the rich person, but you say to the poor one, “You can stand over there, or else sit on the floor”-well, doesn’t this discrimination show that your judgments are guided by evil motives?
J 2:20
How foolish!
Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?
J 2:19
Good for you!
J 2:7
Aren’t they the ones who slander Jesus Christ, whose noble name you bear?
J 2:18
How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds?
J 2:14
What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions?
Can that kind of faith save anyone?
J 2:1
My dear brothers and sisters, how can you claim to have faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ if you favor some people over others?
J 2:25
Rahab
J 2:11
You must not commit adultery
You must not murder.
J 3:12
Does a fig tree produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs?
J 3:10
Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!
J 3:11
Does a spring of water bubble out with both fresh water and bitter water?
J 4:6
God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
J 4:4
You adulterers!
Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God?
J 4:12
So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?
J 4:14
How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow?
J 4:5
Do you think the Scriptures have no meaning?
J 4:1
What is causing the quarrels and fights among you?
Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you?
J 5:11
Job
J 5:9
For look-the Judge is standing at the door!
J 5:13

Are any of you happy?

For listen!
J 5:17
Elijah
Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years!
