What are the “Five Civilized Tribes”
The Five Civilized tribes were Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek and Seminole. They had Freedmen who were former African American slaves of tribal members or descendants of former slaves living among them.

What happened during the moving of the Indians
It took months in the cold for the Indians to move one place to another, they had to sleep on the floor, and many along the long journey by horse and foot died because of cold, tiredness, and or old age.
