Also known as a Ebony tree which comes from the dark wood
It is known for its antibiotic properties
Bark is black as if it has been burnt with a distinct white wash over the top
Man away from home should not eat the fruits lest he be inhabited by evil spirits
Diospyros means pear if the gods - ripened fruit is eaten by humans too
