- When the patient is hypernatraemic
- When the patient is hypoglycaemic

When should you give human albumin solution?
A
When the patient has ascites. The albumin maintains oncotic pressure and the sodium will worsen ascites.

How do you assess if rescucitation fluids are working?
A
BP, HR and urine output

A
Give 1L of saline over 2-4hrs

A

- Check patients U+E’s.
- Check patient isn’t fluid overloaded - JVP, peripheral and pulmonary oedema
- Ensure patient’s bladder is not palpable
