- Followsa detailed statutory scheme to determine child support.
- Amounts are based on need and parent’s ability tp pay. Less discretion for courts.

A
- formula based on sliding scale accounting for neumber of children, age, needs of children, parent’s incomes and time spent with children

Visitation

- not dependent on payment of support.
- Non Payment may be used as a defense to a contempt action based on the unclean hadns doctrine

Termination of support

- ends at 18
- no support for college expenses as a matter of law. Contract otherwise
- Can extend to 20 if child is still in high school–court discertion
