1)Nuclear - consisting of two parents and their dependent children
2)Extended - parents and children living in one household with other individuals united by kinship (e.g., grandparents, cousins)

1)Biological - a person’s blood relations as opposed to relations acquired through marriage, adoption, or fostering.2)Stepfamily(blended family) - at least one parent has children that are not biologically related to the other parent3)Compound - three or more spouses and their children. Typical in polygamous societies, but it can also arise in monogamous ones through a second marriage.
4)Adoptive - a family when parents adopted a child5)Foster - minors and their state-certified caregivers (foster parent). Placement of a foster child is arranged by the government or a social service agency. Foster care replaced orphanages.
