You can use this structure with a number of other verbs, especially: alleged / believed / considered / expected / known / reported / thought / understood.

- It is believed that the boy wearing a white sweater/ The boy is believed to be (is) wearing a white sweater.
- It is expected that strike will / The strike is expected to end soon.
- It is reported that two people / Two people are reported to have been (were) injured.
Sometimes (it is) supposed to… = (it is) s___ to….
Sometimes (it is) supposed to… = (it is) said to….
- Let’s go and see that movie. It’s supposed to be good. (= it is said to be good)
- Mark is supposed to have hit a police officer, but I don’t believe it. (= it is said to have hit a police officer)
Note: Sometimes “(not) supposed to” has a different meaning: intended, arranged, or expected. (“censé”)
- The plan is supposed to be a secret. (= the plan is intended a secret)
