What are user groups?
Groups of people that are categorised in a certain way. Categories are based on the needs and issues that affect participation.
What is somebody’s gender identity?
Who they know themselves to be. Traditionally grouped into 2 genders (male and female).
How can the sport you participate in be influenced by your culture or ethnicity?
People from different ethnic groups may be steered away or towards certain activities.
Describe retired/60+ people in terms of sports.
Often have more time as they do not work, but they also more likely to have physical difficulties. Participate in low-impact activities.
What is families with children?
An adult with a child.
What is a Carer?
Someone who provides unpaid care and support to a family member, friend, or neighbour who needs help.
Explain someone having a family commitment.
Someone who prioritises their family responsibilities and actively dedicates time and energy to their loved ones.
