widening of the franchise

A
k-the 1867 act gave the working class the right to vote this increased the number of votes from 1.1 million to 2.5 million 
k-the 1884 act extended the vote to the countryside the vote increased from 2.5 million to 5 million 
A+ mps were still unevenly distributed to many counties and small burghs at the cost of large industrial areas
E-overall Britain was the most important reason fro Britain being democratic. Britain had made progress in extending the franchise by 1928 the successive reform acts of the 19th century widened the franchise and then it was extended to the working class women as well as men the reason that Britain became so democratic was because of the 1918 representation of the people act led to the vote to increase from 8.4 million to 21.4 million this meant more people were allowed to vote as women over 30 were allowed to vote this was important because it mad it able for more people to be represented in parliament and less people were being segregated which made the UK more democratic overall making it the most important factor

k-the 1911 act meant that mps would get £400 salieres per annum
k_the house of commons was reduced from 7 years in power to 5
A+however the voting system in the uk is still fist past the post this is a very outdated and undemocratic system

curruption and intimadation

k-the 1872 secret ballot act allowed voters to vote in private during elections
k-the courupt and illegal practice act of 1883 stated what a candidate could spend thier money on
A+however plural voting was still allowed this led to a man voting 23 times in one election

the distribution of seats

A

k-the 1884-5 acts meant that 142 seats were redistributed incrasing scottish reprisentation to 72 seats
k-the representation of the people act of 1918 meant that each constuency had aprox 70000 people in it
